2019 Mindful Education Summit starts October 16th

Posted on Oct 15, 2019

The Awake Network and mindful.org have partnered to create an online event happening this week: the Mindful Education Summit.

From October 16th – 20th, 35 researchers and educators will offer resources on mindfulness in US schools at the Mindful Education Summit.

Speakers will be presenting research on mindfulness for children, youth, and adults; discussing their experiences bringing mindfulness into the classroom; and offering case studies and interviews with educators and administrators. Presenters will include Richard Davidson, Meena Srinivasan, David Treleaven, Daniel Siegel, Ali Smith, Dzung Vo, Kristin Neff, Rick Hanson, Patricia Jennings, Rona Wilensky, and Amishi Jha, plus many more.

Although CMind and ACMHE typically serve a higher education-focused audience, we wanted to help publicize this event as it offers resources for those in the field of teacher education, as well as parents, administrators, therapists, and anyone interested in learning more about mindfulness practices with children and youth; plus, what happens in K-12 mindfulness education has an impact on contemplative pedagogy in colleges and universities. Additionally, participating in this marketing has potential to help us support our core programs: the videos will be available free of charge during the summit (log in every day to view that day’s content), but a Resource Package, containing all the footage of the event, is an option to purchase by those who register for the free event. CMind will receive revenue from any purchase made through the links on this page. But regardless of your interest in purchasing the Resource Package, we hope you will benefit from this event!
